Nominations The call for nominations is open to all mortgage professionals and organisations – including advisers, broker firms, distributors, lenders, BDMs and service providers – from across the UK. Nominations were open from Thursday 14 July to Friday 26 August at 11:59pm UK time.
Excellence Awardees Once all nominations were considered and research is complete, excellence awardees were selected in each category (except the Lifetime Achievement award) and notified via email or phone.
Judging All submissions from our excellence awardees were forwarded to the independent judging panel comprising of senior leaders from industry associations and marketing consultancies specialising in the UK mortgage sector. The panel assessed and voted for their winners in each category according to the relevant category criteria. Voting commenced in October 2022 and their judgement will be impartial, balanced, incisive and fair. Any judge with a conflict of interest in a category will recuse themselves from judging that particular award.
Winners Using a simple points system to aggregate judges’ votes, the excellence awardee with the top score in a category will be named the winner. Winners were announced at the awards ceremony on 28 November. They will be promoted in a commemorative guide published with Mortgage Introducer magazine and on the Mortgage Introducer website and social media. Promo packages to leverage your achievement across your marketing channels will be available for purchase.

Celebrating Excellence in the Mortgage Industry
The gorgeously-decorated setting of London’s Old Billingsgate was certainly the place to be on November 28th, as the great and the good of the financial services world descended on one of the capital’s most prestigious hospitality and events venues, for the Mortgage Introducer Awards 2022.
As global editor of Mortgage Introducer, I would like to extend the warmest of congratulations to the excellence awardees of the Mortgage Introducer Awards. Here at Key Media, we’re proud that the Mortgage Introducer Awards is established as the premier independent awards event for the nation’s mortgage industry – and this year we’re thrilled to be bringing you this event in person once more. In recent years, we’ve taken our awards ceremony virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the various lockdown restrictions that accompanied it. I’d like to thank everyone who tuned in remotely to watch those ceremonies and the brilliant line-ups of panelists who brought an educational element to those events – but we must admit, there’s nothing quite like being in person. It is by coming together that we can share stories and experiences. It is by being united that we can discuss the challenges facing the industry and find solutions to overcome them. And it is by celebrating in-person that we can see the joy that each award win brings to such a hugely deserving line-up of the very best this industry has to offer. The last few years have been difficult for all of us. Many of you will have felt stresses at home and in your personal lives, and yet somehow picked yourself up to carry the weight of your clients’ needs on your shoulders. Your effort, your hard work, and your inspiration in going above and beyond has not gone unnoticed. Now, we gather to celebrate YOU. We wholeheartedly thank you for joining us and hope that you enjoyed the Mortgage Introducer Awards 2022.

Although, naturally, all of the focus was on the evening itself, the exacting selection and judging of the finalists dated back weeks. A wildly impressive, 154 of them had been hand-picked by our expert panel of judges, from the hundreds of nominations put forward when the application process opened. It was, as always, no easy task, such was the very high standard of entries we received, yet sure enough, after much painstaking discussion, we had our illustrious, roll call of honour. “Magnificent strides” “This is actually, for me, an opportunity for the industry to recognise those who have made magnificent strides,” shared Sydney Wager, head of intermediary and market development at sponsor Barclays. “An evening like this is fantastic to celebrate those who have been fantastic and to inspire others to want to be, because I think the value in a really good set of awards is others aspiring to be here next year - and I think that’s what you’ve done.” The sense of celebration and joy that permeated the building was palpable, and neatly illustrated by the several hundred bottles of fizz which were opened during the course of the evening! The assembled guests, from winners to nominees and judges to sponsors, plus the award recipients’ proud employers and excited colleagues, enjoyed an exquisite three-course dinner and the humour of our host, renowned comedian Mark Watson. As headline sponsor Landbay’s head of marketing, Nick Joelson acknowledged, surveying the celebration, “It's good to recognise everyone in the industry and to have a good night out as well.” He added: “We wanted to support a prestigious publication like Mortgage Introducer.” “Great work” His Landbay colleague, Paul Brett, managing director of intermediaries, wisely noted: “We've had some real highs and some real lows, but ultimately, it reminds us of all the great work that we've done as an industry throughout these challenging times.” With the awards presented, speeches made, copious photographs snapped and congratulations flowing, the winners, the nominees and their colleagues made for the dancefloor to burn off some energy at the after-ceremony party. Emma Green, distribution director for sponsor Payment Shield, was hugely positive about coming to the awards. “For us it was important because it’s a massive industry event,” she acknowledged. “Everyone’s buzzing, it’s a really good event, it’s the event everyone comes to at the end of the year and it’s just good to see the top firms being recognised for their achievements throughout the year.” Unmissable This was the sixth successive, again very well supported, year of the event, which for many has become a major and unmissable night in the mortgage industry calendar. “I’m a great fan of Mortgage Introducer,” said Jeff Knight, director of Grey Matter Marketing Solutions, who presented an award. “I’m a great believer in supporting events like this, that Mortgage Introducer has put together. It’s important to say thank you.”
Research Our new, dedicated in-house research team validated each submission form, conduct research and draw on knowledge and information gained through Mortgage Introducer magazine to support and supplement submissions and ensure that no one deserving of recognition is missed.
