The Mortgage Girls
Elyce Peters
Founder
I still remember the day Holly and I started The Mortgage Girls – sitting in my lounge wearing track pants. Combining our shared experiences and frustrations with the finance and lending sector, we knew there had to be a better business model. That’s what we set out to create. Compared to when we started The Mortgage Girls 10 years ago, it’s incredible seeing the positive change around what a mortgage adviser looks like. There are more young people, more women and greater representation across the board. Financial advice is becoming more accessible. It’s fantastic!

We’re not just here for the big moments like securing finance or getting the keys to a new home. Every member of The Mortgage Girls (TMG) goes above and beyond to ensure that our clients always feel supported and informed. Some clients aren’t ready to buy right away, and that’s OK. We make it a priority to stay in touch, provide savings or debt reduction plans, and offer encouragement along the way.

Founder
When I first entered the banking world, I was told to focus on helping people, and everything else would fall into place. I took that to heart and made it my mission to bring exceptional customer service to The Mortgage Girls.
Sure, the numbers are important – we’re running a business, after all. But more than closed deals, The Mortgage Girls is a reflection of the passion and care we put into every single client interaction. Ten years and multiple awards later, nothing has changed. We’re still all about continuous improvement to deliver the best possible experience for our clients.

Regular communication is key. Even if it’s just a quick update to let clients know we’re still waiting for the lender, we believe that constant contact builds trust. No one has ever complained about hearing from us too often. In fact, communication is one of the things people value most about our service.
The homebuying journey doesn’t end with the settlement. Once the keys are in a client’s hand, our team continues to support them by scheduling fixed-rate reviews and checking in when we see an opportunity to help them make smarter financial decisions. We’re always available for follow-up phone calls to ensure their financial journey is on track and that they’re not missing out on better options or savings.
Winning this award for best customer service is incredible, but the real proof is in our reviews and referrals. Over 50% of our business comes from client referrals, which is a testament to the lasting relationships we build and the positive experiences we create. Beyond securing their mortgage, there’s no higher compliment than our clients trusting us to guide them, their friends, family and colleagues towards long-term financial wellbeing.
The most rewarding part of our work is hearing the personal stories of clients who’ve achieved their homeownership dreams. Dreams they often thought, and had sometimes been told, weren’t possible. From first homes to investment properties, we’ve been there every step of the way, celebrating milestones and offering advice for future growth. More than mortgages, we truly believe we’re in the business of helping people achieve their dreams and better financial futures.
Buying a home is one of the most important decisions of a person’s life. That’s why The Mortgage Girls is dedicated to making the journey as smooth, transparent and empowering as possible. Every client is more than just a transaction – they’re part of the TMG family, and we’re committed to supporting them long after the deal is done.
