With a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Psychology, Matt combines strategic insight with a strong understanding of people, bringing both clarity and empathy to every client interaction. He began his career at ASB Bank, where he identified a gap in the local market, leading him to leave traditional banking and establish his own firm. His vision was to challenge the norm and deliver a more transparent, personalised and empowering home ownership journey. Matt’s career as a former Hawke’s Bay Magpies rugby player was cut short by injury in 2015. However, the discipline and resilience he developed continue to drive his success. Under his leadership, The Finance Team has grown rapidly, earning the Napier City Business Award for Business Services in 2023, which recognised the firm’s impact and commitment to excellence. Whether working with first home buyers, property investors or clients looking to refinance, Matt remains dedicated to helping people make smart, confident financial decisions.
